We are very proud to tell you that as of this summer Seats2meet.com is officially a certified B Corporation! B Corps are a new type of company that uses the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. B Corp certification is to business what Fair Trade certification is to coffee or USDA Organic certification is to milk.
One of the most important reasons to got certified was the assessment from B Lab in order to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. We’ve evaluated how our practices impact our employees, our community, the environment, and our customers. This assessment was a great way to evaluate the things we are doing and on the other hand learn on which terrains we can improve our mission.
Today, there are over 1,300 Certified B Corps around the globe. We are proud to join them in redefining success in business, so that one day everyone uses business as a force for good. This was another reason for us to become a B corp. To be part of a strong international network of change makers who, just like us, use their business as a force for the good of society. This fits perfectly with our strong vision described in our book Society 3.0 and matches off course with the fact that we already start working with social capital in 2007.
